Together with the Queen Dowager’s Life Regiment, they reenact the Battle of Lund and demonstrate 17th-century cavalry and infantry drills.

Medieval Camp

At the medieval camp, you can play medieval games, design your own shield, or have a dragon painted on your face. The medieval association Attemark provides insight into life in the Middle Ages, while students from Katedralskolan’s history programme organise activities for children.

Svedala Scout Group

Curious about what food tasted like in the 1600s? Or interested in historical engineering? The scouts prepare dishes that soldiers at the Battle of Lund may have eaten. If you do not dare taste them, you can instead try building Leonardo da Vinci’s self-supporting bridge entirely from wooden poles. Would you dare walk across it?

The Library Bus

The public libraries of Lund visit the event with their library bus. Borrow history-themed books and participate in activities inspired by children’s history books. The bus will be located beside Kungshuset.

The Heart of the Student City – Art and Architecture Connected to Lund University

The art history student association Pictura offers short guided tours about the history of the university, the architecture of Lundagård, and even takes visitors into AF-Borgen to see a copy of Rembrandt’s Night Watch — which, believe it or not, hangs in Lund!

Tours begin at the entrance of Kungshuset.

Lund History Days – Part of the Commemoration Year for the Battle of Lund

The year 2026 marks an important milestone in the history of Lund and Skåne. It will be 350 years since Lund became the scene of a
bloody battle between Swedes and Danes — a decisive historical event that confirmed the Scanian provinces as part of Sweden.

Today, the hostility between the two nations is long gone, and in Skåne the close relationship with Denmark is an important part of everyday life. Commemorating this event therefore serves not only to remember the tragedies of the past, but also to highlight the peaceful relations that now define our part of the world.

Lund History Days is organised by the Föreningen Lunds historiedagar and Kulturen in collaboration with the history programme at Katedralskolan, Handelsföreningen i Lund, Lund City, Historiska Media, Historiska museet, and Lund Cathedral.

The event is supported by the Folke Ljungdahls stiftelse, the Thora Ohlssons stiftelse, and Lunds kommun.
